One of the most picturesque routes in the Pacific Northwest, Amtrak Cascades, paused all services in 2020 as soon as the US-Canadian borders closed down during the pandemic. After over two years of being non-functional, Amtrak Cascades is finally resuming services and opening up for the fall getaway. From Oregon to Vancouver, winding through the striking natural formations of the Pacific Northwest, this scenic route is all set to please its old and new guests.

The route is being relaunched on September 26, 2022, and the tickets are on sale again, so grab it earlier. There is a 10 percent off if you buy the tickets three days before your travel. It will cost you a minimum of USD 45 for a four-hour-long journey.
What happens once it reopens?
As soon as travel resumes, Amtrak is slated to operate one daily roundtrip between Vancouver and Seattle. There will be stops at five cities in Washington, namely Everett, Edmonds, Stanwood, Bellingham, and Mount Vernon, unlike the usual route that covered Eugene, Oregon, and Vancouver.
The Pacific Coastline is a treat for travelers, as it comes with 200 miles of spectacles. Studded with snowy peaks and lush greens, this is one helluva rude to experience. The train route is set to introduce separate roundtrips between Portland and Eugene during the Oregon leg of the trip. One will also witness Mount Hood and the Columbia River, among many other gorgeous nature treats on the way.
The train experience
Cascade will extend roomy car seats, baggage allotments, and free wifi. The Cafe Car will serve blue corn vegan tamales, Angus cheeseburgers, tacos, and much more. You can also expect to enjoy sparkling wine and hard cider.
Travel requirements
The Canadian border travel requirements will remain stringent despite opening the borders to American passengers. You must have the ArriveCAN app downloaded on your phones and be able to show fully vaccinated certificates. You must wear masks while on the train or at the railway stations.
